Aware Monitoring's participation at the E-Commerce Expo 2010 in London last week went extremely well. Our theme of “Don’t let downtime steal your Christmas!” drew attention to the stand, dressed up like a Christmas gift, as well as provided an avenue for some instant recognition of our service benefits. We held a lucky dip contest to give away a number of free Christmas cover plans, offering quality performance monitoring coverage during and after the biggest time of year for e-retailers.

The show was a great opportunity to both connect with potential customers as well as strengthen the relationships between Aware Monitoring and the rest of the ecosystem of Internet-based service providers. We got a chance to catch up with Misae Richwoods, Aware Monitoring customer and proprietor of Rising Dragon Enterprises Ltd, a portfolio of online retail sites. We were also able to connect with friends Nick Walker, from Walker Systems, Nick Tsinonis from IntroAnalytics, as well as catching-up with senior representatives from managed host providers such as Dedipower and UK Fast.

On the whole, conference attendees showed a strong understanding of the need for some type of performance monitoring, especially if their websites are trading in high volumes or they have a portfolio of sites, such as Misae. Our outreach and education efforts, combined with those of the rest of the performance monitoring industry, are beginning to pay off with the awareness and importance of monitoring. After attending the expo, we realised that many e-retailers clearly know how performance monitoring can work for them…do you?
